Goal Zero Street Charge
The first drop-in community charging station for mobile devices. Each unit harnesses the sun's energy and provides usb charging ports for the public. Street Charge was awarded the 2014 Architizer A+ Jury Winner, 2014 International CES Innovation Award, INC Magazine Best in Class, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce 2013 Made in Brooklyn Design Award, and the 2013 DUMBO Dozen Award. These charging stations are currently deployed in cities around the world.
• As a key contributor to its invention and development I am listed as co-inventor on the patent
• Engineer in charge of executing design as well as ensuring functionality and electronics protection
• Created 3D CAD, technical drawings, and interfaced with fabricators
• Assisted in deploying and maintaining 30 units during initial pilot run
• Assisted in building and testing prototypes in the local neighborhood
• Design challenges included waterproofing, maintenance, vandalism, shipping, and quick on-site assembly
